Frequently Asked Questions

  • Is it safe to drive with a broken windscreen?

Yes, although it can be dangerous, depending on the size of the damage. In some instances, the damage may become worse while driving as well, leading to more complex repairs or even a replacement, being required. If you have a damaged windscreen, we recommend avoiding driving until the issue is resolved.

  • How long does a windscreen replacement take?

Each situation is unique, but the average time is approximately an hour, some repairs can take as little as 30 minutes and full replacement might take closer to 2 hours.

  • How do I know if my windscreen needs repair or replacement?

Unfortunately, there is a fine line between a windscreen that needs only a repair and a windscreen that requires full replacement, and it often requires a professional evaluation to determine the solution. With that said, most cracks smaller than a couple of centimetres can be repaired.

  • Does insurance cover windscreen replacement?

Yes. Most insurance providers in Australia cover windscreen repair and replacement. Here at Crakka Windscreens, we can bill your insurance company directly so you will not have to worry about doing it yourself.

  • Will any part of the process damage my vehicle?

No. Our skilled team is very experienced, taking extra precautions to ensure each job is done perfectly without causing any damage to your vehicle.
